Sarnia-Lambton Business Development Corporation (SLBDC) was founded in May 1988 as a non-profit community-based corporation, backed by federal government funding. We started out with the mission we still hold to today: to help small business owners in Lambton County succeed and thereby create permanent, long-term employment opportunities and help build our economic community. We want to reduce small business failures, and empower business owners to succeed by providing access to the funding and resources they need to build stable work environments and sound business plans.

With our free business counselling services, and access to repayable financing to a maximum of $250,000, SLBDC has been helping business owners start, grow, and establish their companies across the county for 30 years. Since 1988, we’ve assisted in the creation of over 8,981 permanent jobs in Lambton County by way of providing business counseling, business loans, and other entrepreneurial programs. We are proud to have supported 678 local businesses with loans totalling $36.5 million.
